 This aircraft, Panavia Tornado PA-200 43+75, began its life as a training aircraft leading an active duty life in Germany with Marinefliegergeschwader 1 (Naval Aviation Wing 1) from 1983 until 1999 when the aircraft transferred to the German Air Force and flew with Jagdbombergeschwadern (Fighter Bomber Wings) 31 "Boelcke," 33 "Büchel/Cochem," and 34 "Allgäu" until 2001.
From 2001 until 2007 43+75 flew with the German Air Force Flying Training Center (GAF FTC) at Holloman AFB, New Mexico. The aircraft returned to active combat flying in Germany from 2007 until 2010 when 43+75 returned to the skies of New Mexico serving the remainder of its service life at Holloman AFB and the GAF FTC until its retirement from flying in 2013 after accumulating 4324.25 flight hours in 30 years of flying.
The German Air Force and German government generously donated A/C 43+75 to the United States Air Force for display here at Holloman’s Heritage Air Park demonstrating the close work-ing relationship that exists between the German Air Force, United States Air Force, 49th Wing, Holloman AFB, and the GAF FTC. The aircraft donation was accepted by the United States Air Force on 24 February 2014.
The aircraft has officially transferred ownership from the German Air Force to the USAF.
